Location Profile
Olinda Primary School is located in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges. Extensive natural and landscaped school grounds allow a range of opportunities for active and imaginative play.
Established in 1906 and has retained its original classroom. We have seven classrooms and a dedicated Arts Centre where we teach art, drama and music. Our current enrolment is 13 students ranging from Foundation to Year 6. We currently have a teaching Principal and 1.2 teaching staff as well as 1.9 Education Support (ES). All staff work closely together with planning and delivery of the curriculum.
Our vision is to provide a curriculum that promotes a sound and strong sense of self in each child. It builds on individual knowledge and skill to enhance personal learning and their ability to develop relationships with each other, family, friends and the wider community.
Our three core values of Kindness, Respect, and Responsibility are reflected throughout our curriculum. Students are challenged to achieve their personal best and to develop skills, attitudes and values required to become responsible, flexible and reflective thinkers. `Play Is The Way¿, our behaviour education program to enhance student wellbeing and provide a framework for all teaching and learning. We also use the Berry Street Education Model.
