Facilities Officer part time hours negotiable - Starting Term 4

Selection Criteria

SC1    Demonstrated experience and skills in performing maintenance and groundskeeping responsbilities.
SC2    Demonstrated capacity to work independently to fulfil specific projects and ongoing regular maintenance tasks.
SC3    Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills.
SC4    Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
SC5    Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management: proactive identification of hazards and impending maintenance tasks, and identfication of costs savings and efficiency outcomes with regard to ongoing maintenance and development of the school and grounds.

Role

The role of the Facilities Officer position include but is not limited to:

• Work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education support, students and parents
• Ensure that the school's buildings and grounds are well maintained and presented and that all work undertaken complies with statutory obligations and Department Standards
• Take a hands on role in performing daily maintenance tasks whenever required which will include emergency maintenance, cleaning and deliveries.
• Respond to service requests for breakdowns and repairs.
• Identify, report and advise on major furniture, fixture and equipment renewal needs across the school
• Ensure that the physical environment of the school, its buildings, grounds and resources are maintained in an excellent condition including identification of safety hazards
