HOME ECONOMICS TEACHER

Position Details
Mater Dei College has the opportunity for a full-time, ongoing Home Economics Teacher to become an integral part of the College’s Home Economics Learning Area, commencing 1 January 2027.

We are seeking a vibrant, passionate, and confident individual who is committed to helping our students reach their full potential.

The Home Economics Teacher will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the Home Economics Learning Area that are inclusive of, but not limited to:
• Implementing effective teaching strategies to engage and challenge students of varying abilities to achieve specific learning outcomes.
• Fostering a stimulating, encouraging and inclusive classroom environment designed to support student growth.
• Delivering engaging Home Economics curriculum, guiding students through key concepts whole developing their practical skills, creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking in areas such as food and nutrition, textiles, children, family and the community.
• Programming for classes within the Home Economics Learning Area and thoroughly planning for each lesson.
• Assessing the performance of students in accordance with College procedures and where required, maintaining contact with parents regarding the performance and wellbeing of students.
• Meeting the deadlines set by the Head of Learning Area and College Executive.
