Role description
Heathfield High School is a comprehensive secondary school in the Adelaide Hills with a student cohort of around 1000 students. The motto: "inspiring excellence and transforming lives" supports our school's learning culture. We have recently undertaken significant building works to provide innovative and contemporary learning facilities. We are proud of our students for their achievements in academic, sports, Arts and cultural pursuits. Our school has a long history and we are nationally recognised as a Special Interest Volleyball school and we are one of 4 entrepreneurial schools in the state. The school has a dynamic, richly resourced curriculum that encourages wide-ranging future options for young people. We have developed a number of programs that encompass the General Capabilities of the Australian Curriculum and we foster mindsets to encourage students to use critical and creative thinking, collaboration and problem solving. Students' learning systems include Daymap, where learning is clearly visible to parents and students. Teachers devise lessons using learning intentions and success criteria and encourage students to stretch their thinking. Our school caters for a broad range of student interests and pathways including university, trades and traineeships or direct employment opportunities, making the school desirable in the local Adelaide Hills community.
