Shape the Future of Leadership, Learning and Development for Staff in WA’s Public Schools

The Department is broadening the focus of its Leadership Institute to support the growth and development of school leaders, teachers and support staff across Western Australia.

To progress this important initiative, a new team will be established to:

• integrate existing leadership and professional learning programs for school staff into a cohesive and sustainable model
• coordinate the commissioning, development and delivery of contemporary leadership and professional learning programs across the system
• ensure programs are quality assured and aligned with the Department’s strategic priorities
• monitor, evaluate and report on professional learning initiatives, including their impact and emerging workforce development needs.

The team will work collaboratively with staff across the Department, as well as external experts and stakeholders.

An initial priority will be establishing the Department’s new Disability and Inclusion Professional Learning Hub, which will provide school staff with high-quality professional learning, training and resources to better support students with disability in the classroom.
