Education Assistant - Special Needs

This is a 6 month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2026 with possible extension 12 months and/or permanency

The Role

As an Education Assistant at North Cottesloe PS, you will ideally become part of a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing team committed to raising standards and improving outcomes for all students.

Experience supporting teachers in the delivery of evidence-based intervention programs is highly desirable. This may include working with small groups or individual students using programs such as UFLI, Spelling Mastery, PRIME, Explicit Mathematics Program, MiniLit, and MacqLit.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience and skills in:

• Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and proactive evidence based behaviour support strategies.
• Delivering and supporting functional curricula for students with diverse learning needs.
• Using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and communication supports.
• Working with the ABLEWA curriculum and assessment framework alongside classroom teachers to plan, implement, and monitor student learning.
