About the Role

St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Head of Junior High to join our Junior High team. Reporting to the Head of Junior High, this key leadership role partners strategically and operationally to foster a high-performing, student-centred sub-school where students flourish, staff are supported, and a culture of wellbeing, engagement and academic success thrives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Year Level Coordinators to build a collaborative, high-performing leadership team.
  • Oversee student wellbeing, pastoral care and behaviour management frameworks across Years 7–9.
  • Manage complex student matters and coordinate interventions to support student engagement and success.
  • Partner with families, staff and specialist support teams to deliver positive outcomes for students.
  • Drive Junior High improvement initiatives, using data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Deputise for the Head of Junior High and contribute to strategic and operational leadership across the sub-school.

What You Bring

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Leadership, Pastoral Care and/or Curriculum, together with Queensland College of Teachers registration (or eligibility for registration).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of middle years education, student wellbeing, pastoral care and behaviour management practices.
