About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced educator with a passion for inclusive education and supporting students learning English as an additional language or dialect? John Paul College (JPC) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Diverse Learning Teacher – EAL/D Focus to join our vibrant Primary team.

This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families in a supportive and dynamic environment where every student is empowered to thrive.

 

About the Role
At JPC, we believe in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that encourages all students to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Diverse Learning Teacher with an EAL/D focus, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students whose first language is a language or dialect other than Standard Australian English to access, participate in, and excel through our academic programs.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

·         Work within year-level teams to support differentiated teaching practices that meet the needs of EAL/D students

·         Provide targeted intervention for primary students requiring support to develop proficiency in English, working with specific groups and individuals within a set time frame

·         Support EAL/D students individually, in small groups, or within classroom settings to build the English language skills needed to access the general curriculum

·         Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to jointly construct Adjustment Plans for EAL/D students
