About Workforce Supply Mobility and Reform

Role description


This is a permanent full-time position commencing in September

Workforce Supply, Mobility and Reform is responsible for promoting the Department of Education as the employer of choice to local, interstate and international teachers.

We represent the Department at expos, in universities, and deliver online events and webinars. We work with the Communications team to create and maintain the Department of Education career website, and promotional material related to the work we do. We also lead a number of workforce supply initiatives designed to support schools to attract and retain quality staff.

A number of key Workforce functions are currently managed within our team including:

  • The international and interstate recruitment of high quality teachers;
  • Promotion of the Department as an Employer of Choice with a diversity of careers in Education;
  • The Leap program to retrain teachers into specialised areas of need; and
  • The Teach in WA customer service centre, providing information to prospective and current Department teachers in many areas of inquiry, including employment eligibility requirements, recognition of prior service, and teacher qualification assessments.

The Senior Project Officer contributes to the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of workforce attraction and retention policies, systems and initiatives across the public education system.
