Kimberley Education Regional Office is seeking a highly motivated Participation Coordinator for a Permanent vacancy based in Kununurra.
Across the state, Regional Education Offices are responsible for supporting schools in the metropolitan and rural areas by promoting system initiatives, providing support and quality assurance and ensuring consistency in the implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the outcomes of schooling. Regional offices are also required to ensure that each school within their area of responsibility complies with the relevant legislation and policies.
Daily travel by car is a large part of the Participation Coordinator role to facilitate in person contact through visits to student’s homes, support services, providers, training providers and employers to provide direct support and optimise success of arrangements.
This position is based in Kununurra and will require extensive travel to other parts of the Kimberley which will include overnight/s stays and will include travel by small aircraft to remote communities as required.
The Role
In this role, the successful applicant will manage an assigned caseload within the Kimberley Education Region and provide individualised case management, brokerage, and face-to-face outreach support to compulsory school-aged students, primarily in the senior secondary years, who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging.
