Grounds and Maintenance Officer

Permanent | Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Based in Prospect, SA

Blackfriars is an independent Catholic School under the governance of the Dominican Friars, committed to providing a well-rounded education that caters specifically to the needs of boys: academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We are seeking a reliable, practical and team-oriented Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join our Property Services team.

The Grounds and Maintenance Officer plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, welcoming and functional school environment. The role supports the day-to-day presentation and operation of the School through grounds upkeep, cleaning activities, event set-up and pack-down, minor maintenance tasks, and assisting with the coordination of contractors and facilities services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the presentation of school grounds, gardens, pathways, courtyards and outdoor areas to a high standard, ensuring the campus remains safe, clean and welcoming.
  • Perform routine groundskeeping duties, including operating grounds maintenance equipment and completing scheduled grounds and maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Assist with cleaning activities across the campus, including outdoor areas, facilities and other presentation-related tasks as required
  • Undertake minor maintenance and repair work within skill and competency levels, and identify maintenance issues requiring further attention.
