Role description
St Patrick's School is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our team.
The Senior Finance Officer is resonsible for the effective facilitation of the school's financial and payroll operations. Responsibility includes budgets, audits, payroll, school fees as well as financial activities related to school assets and projects such as buildings, grounds and facilities.
This is a full-time permanent position commencing ASAP.
The successful candidates will be expected to undergo our screening process, which includes a Working With Children Check, CESA e-screening + Applicant Declaration Form, First Aid and RRHAN-EC.
Key responsibilities include, and are not limited to:
Provide financial, policy and planning advice which may include providing reports, statistical surveys and advice on regulations and procedures to inform the development of financial related policies and strategies for successful operation and compliance.
Lead and direct the planning, design and implementation of the school’s financial systems, controls, planning and budget processes.
Manage/oversee the school’s finance function including all aspects of accounts receivable and payable, reconciliation of bank and loan accounts, and preparing and submitting monthly BAS, GST and FBT returns within required timelines.
Initiate and prepare accounts for annual audit including Annual Financial Statement for auditing by external auditor in accordance with appropriate SACCS policy and accounting standards.
