The Team
King Island District High School is a K–12 combined school located on a truly remarkable island in Bass Strait, off the northwest coast of Tasmania. Our unique setting offers both professional reward and a strong sense of community connection, in a collaborative and forward‑thinking school community where staff work together to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment. King Island District High School provides quality education for children from Birth to Year 12. Facilities at the school include a gymnasium, a heated indoor pool and an Arts Centre with state of the art sound and lighting equipment.
King Island District High School sits at the heart of our community. This year, we are engaged in several key programs that support wellbeing, engagement, and whole‑child development, including:
- The Resilience Project across K-10, which also includes staff wellbeing support
- Hands on Learning
- School Food Matters Healthy Lunch Program, feeding all students in the school, two days per week.
