Role description

The Opportunity

Our Lady of Grace School (“OLOG”) is seeking an Education Support Officer (Curriculum) to join the OLOG curriculum team on a permanent part time basis of 22 hours per week during school term time . If you are passionate about education, possess strong organisational skills, and can adapt and contribute to a dynamic learning environment, we invite you to apply.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carry out a wide variety of tasks associated with classroom learning experiences (e.g. assisting teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising classrooms and/or intervention programs).
  • Assisting with the identification of student learning/behaviour problems and supporting teachers during excursions, sports days, and other school activities.
  • Supervise and care for students with formally identified special needs in accordance with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL) as applicable
  • Assist with physical requirements of students requiring special care, as appropriate
  • Provide yard duty support to teachers

About You

We are seeking someone who:

  • Holds a Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent).
  • Has previous experience in supporting student learning in a school setting
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching aids and education programs to meet diverse learning needs
  • Can demonstrate sound interpersonal and teamwork skills, able to work successfully, flexibly, and collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Is able to work under direction, follow instructions and use initiative
  • Is committed to the Catholic ethos and OLOG values
