Role Details

Catherine McAuley School is seeking applications from experienced Senior Finance Officers to join our student focused, vibrant school community.

This part-time permanent/ongoing 15.0 hours per week, 48 weeks per year positionwill commence ASAP. Working hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm,Wednesdays and Fridays.

 

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal (or delegate) and the Business Manager the Senior Finance Officer is accountable for the effective facilitation of the school’s financial and payroll operations, duties include:

  • General accounting
  • Budgets
  • Audits
  • Payroll
  • School Fees
  • Out of Hours School Care
  • As well as financial activities related to school assets and projects such as buildings, grounds and facilities

 

What You Need To Be Successful

  • Possess a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Proven experience in financial management at a mid-high operational level.  
  • Experience within a CESA school/educational environment in a comparable role is highly desirable.
  • Formal tertiary qualification equivalent to 2 years of full-time study (eg Advanced Diploma) in finance/accounting/business and/or demonstrated equivalent competency and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and support other staff members during unexpected situations or emergencies and follow procedures required in such situations.

The successful candidates will be expected to undergo our screening process, which includes a Working With Children Check, CESA e-screening + Applicant Declaration Form, First Aid and RRHAN-EC.
