Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48-hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.

 

Hale School is seeking applications from enthusiastic and well-qualified professionals for the position of an English and Literature Teacher commencing in Term 1 2027. Experience teaching Year 11 ATAR Literature is essential, and experience Year 12 ATAR Literature will be favourable.  English and Literature English and Literature teachers at Hale School have the opportunity to teach all year groups from 8 to 12. The successful applicant will join a highly collaborative department with a strong reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to inspiring students through curiosity, creativity and intellectual engagement.

 

The successful applicant will:

  • have a proven history as an ATAR Literature teacher.

  • ideally have experience teaching ATAR English.

  • have experience teaching Years 8 to 10 English.

  • enjoy working in high-functioning teams.

  • be familiar with the Western Australian Curriculum.

  • have an understanding of, and empathy for, the learning needs and social, emotional, and spiritual development of boys.

  • have a firm commitment to independent schooling and a willingness to support the School’s values and Anglican traditions.

  • hold appropriate academic and teaching qualifications.
