Role description

The Team

Injury Management services are delivered using a person-centred and trauma informed approach that recognises the impact of injury, illness and workplace processes on workers and supports respectful, timely and safe recovery and participation.
 
The Department is progressing Injury Management reforms aimed at strengthening compliance, improving recovery and return to work outcomes, and reducing organisational risk through more consistent, high-quality practices.

About the Role

The Assistant Manager of Injury Management provides senior operational leadership and specialist advice within the Injury Management function, supporting the effective delivery, quality and continuous improvement of services under delegated authority from the Manager, Injury Management. The role contributes to strengthening compliance, managing risk, and improving recovery and return to work outcomes through consistent, high quality claims management and return to work practices.

The role supports the development and implementation of Injury Management reforms, builds capability across the Department, and promotes person-centred, timely and respectful approaches that balance worker wellbeing with legislative, policy and organisational requirements.
