Permanent and temporary School Assistants – Youth Support Worker
We are seeking applications for enthusiastic Youth Support Workers for roles across ACT public schools.
Youth Support Workers play an important role in supporting students to engage in learning, strengthen their wellbeing and build meaningful connections with their school and community. Working closely with students, families, school staff and community organisations, you will help young people overcome barriers to participation, develop resilience and achieve positive educational outcomes.
Depending on the needs of the school community, you may develop and deliver programs and activities that support student engagement, wellbeing and participation in learning. Working in accordance with the ACT Youth Work Code of Ethical Practice, you will provide individual and group support, build positive relationships with students and families, and use professional judgement to advocate for student needs, connect young people with appropriate community services and resources, and contribute to initiatives that promote inclusion, connectedness and a sense of belonging.
