Role description
The Student Support Officer is accountable to the principal for the provision of a curriculum support service that contributes to the educational and social development for students with disabilities. The role of a Student Support Officer (SSO) is to support the students to achieve their learning and personal goals as directed by the teacher. Responsibilities, expectations and required skills may include working in small groups, community visits, one on one work, ICT, communication programs and whole school events. Personal and daily care is a major role in this position. The role includes manual handling, assisted toileting, feeding, hygiene and personal care. Please note the salary amount may differ from that advertised. Salary is dependent upon your current employment status with the Department for Education, tenure and hours per week. The salary stated is based on an employee working 52 weeks per annum, full time equivalent. The successful applicant will be employed under the appropriate mode of employment.
