Role description

The Department for Education is committed to improving the educational outcomes for Aboriginal children
and young people, whether it be in the early years, throughout their schooling or as they embark on pathways
to further education and employment.
The Aboriginal Community Education Officer (ACEO) develops partnerships, provides quality cultural advice
and leadership in supporting educators to be inclusive of the social, wellbeing and learning needs of children
and learners by contributing to the educational outcomes of Aboriginal learners through working in
collaboration with all relevant service providers.
The ACEO builds effective and positive relationships, partnerships and participation between the school and
families of Aboriginal learners in the decision-making and in the education of their children.
The ACEO contributes to the development and implementation of programs aimed at promoting the diversity
of Aboriginal culture, language, history, and customs.

Please note the salary amount may differ from that advertised. Salary is dependent upon your current employment status with the Department for Education, tenure and hours per week. The salary stated is based on an employee working 52 weeks per annum, full time equivalent. The successful applicant will be employed under the appropriate mode of employment.
