Role description

Selection Criteria

1. Demonstrated experience in managing a canteen or food service operation, including menu planning, stock control, ordering, and rostering, with a strong understanding of the Healthy Choices Guidelines.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards and regulations, including safe food handling, storage, and hygiene practices, with the ability to maintain a canteen that meets all relevant health and safety requirements.

3. Proven ability to manage budgets, pricing, cash handling, and basic record keeping and reporting, ensuring the canteen operates efficiently.

4. Demonstrated effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and volunteers, and to work collaboratively as part of the broader school community.

5. Demonstrated experience in supervising, training, and coordinating canteen staff and/or volunteers, fostering a safe, positive, and productive working environment consistent with the Department's values and codes of conduct.

Role

The Canteen Manager is responsible for the coordination, management and day to day operation of the College Canteen, delivering an effective, efficient and welcoming food service to the Gleneagles Secondary College community. Key responsibilities include:
