Selection Criteria

SC1    Demonstrated experience maintaining gardens, grounds and facilities, including seasonal tasks and presentation standards.

SC2    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with management, principals, teachers, education support staff and contractors.

SC3    Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technical and non-technical equipment as relevant to the position including but not limited to gardening and power tools.

SC4    Proven ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and carry out duties with minimal supervision, or no supervision, in a safe, orderly and secure manner.

SC5    Demonstrated capacity to undertake general maintenance tasks that do not require the expertise of a tradesperson or the supervision of a manager.

Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, in this role you will work to maintain the general appearance of the school gardens, grounds, yards and buildings to a high standard, including but not limited to, garden maintenance including weeding, minimal mowing, poisoning, blowing paths, gutters and pruning where required. The successful applicant will also have the capacity to monitor, report on, and undertake minor building maintenance tasks that do not require a licenced tradesperson. Any experience in hydrotherapy pool maintenance, water quality testing and chemicals is a bonus, but not essential. Training for this can be provided at a later date. 

School Holiday attendance requirements for this position can be negotiated however you will be required at times up to a maximum of 30 days per year. A leave purch…
