Role description

Established in 1897, Sacred Heart College is a co-educational Catholic college in the Marist tradition, nurturing both day and boarding students’ holistic needs from Years 7 to 12, across two campuses.

Learning Enrichment Tutor trained in Personal Care Support

  • Champagnat Campus (Years 7-9), Mitchell Park and Marcellin Campus (Years 10-12), Somerton Park
  • Permanent
  • 37.5 hours per week (8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday) during term time
  • Grade 3 + Personal Care Allowance

The primary function of the Learning Enrichment Tutor trained in Personal Care Support is to facilitate tutorial and in-class support for students who require additional support. The role will be responsible for providing learning support for students identified to require this, such as students with disabilities, additional or special needs, English as an Additional Language (EAL), or considered to be ‘at risk’. The Learning Enrichment Tutor trained in Personal Care Support will also provide personal care such as, but not limited to, continence care, oral eating and drinking support and facilitate transfer and positioning according to the needs of individual students. 

The role will also provide support to the Director of Learning Enrichment. Experience or training in support of students with Autism will be considered advantageous. The successful applicant will be required to attend personal care support training.

The successful applicant must also complete our child-safe screening processes, including holding a Working with Children Clearance.
