Role description

EDUCATION ASSISTANT (SWD)

Position Details
We are seeking an Education Assistant (SWD) to join our school community. This is a fixed-term position, with the possibility of continuing in 2027. The successful applicant will be required to work Monday-Friday 8:15am-3:15pm as part of a team within our Jean Ellison Centre.

Selection Criteria
• Support the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education 
• A high degree of professionalism, confidentiality and initiative 
• Enthusiasm and the ability to work as part of a team 
• Willingness to work under the direction of the classroom teacher 
• Ability to develop positive relationships with students 
• Experience working with small groups and/or working alongside students with specific learning needs 
• Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills  
• Ability to use an iPad as a tool for learning and communication  
• Be a reflective staff member, open to feedback and professional growth.

Qualifications Required
- Relevant Education Assistant qualifications/s or equivalent
- Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School, or the willingness to achieve this
