Role description
St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1650 students in 2026. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis was founded in 2017 and offers new, state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.
A temporary full time parental leave replacement position commencing 14 September 2026 until 8 October 2027. The successful applicant will be required to teach classes in Kindergarten to Year 6 (especially Stage 3).
The role of the Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students to reach their full potential.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
- Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
- Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Primary grades.
- Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
- Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA
- Experience in teaching Religious Education in Primary classes
- Experience in teaching Stage 3
