We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Jilbup Primary School (PS) is situated in Hammond Park and is a new school which opened in 2024. At Jilbup PS, we offer a diverse teaching and learning program for students in Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6), including a Specialised Learning Program (SLP) for Students with Autism. The program targets students who do not have an intellectual disability with a focus on year level academic engagement and achievement, organisational skills, social cognition development, positive peer relationships and emotional self-regulation.
Evidence Based Practices for students with ASD are used within the SLP-A. A knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis is an advantage and data collection is a key component of the SLP-A. Staff within the Program are committed to ongoing specialised training to ensure they remain informed of current research.
Flexibility is the key as the school aims to have staff who can work between both the SLP-A and Mainstream classrooms with students’ integration.
