Deanmore Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As Special Needs Education Assistants, suitable applicants should provide feedback when asked on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress. Previous experience in working with students with Autism and trauma is highly desirable. Ideally, suitable applicants will be empathetic and flexible.
As Special Needs Education Assistants, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate positively with the teacher to create and maintain an engaging, challenging, and supportive education program to meet the specific needs of the student, is highly desirable. Suitable applicants will, under teacher direction, assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs, implement individual or small group programs or demonstrations and be able to provide valuable feedback to support student learning.
