Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience undertaking cleaning, facilities, grounds, maintenance or operational support duties in a school or similar environment.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and respond to changing priorities with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and willingness to take initiative in identifying and resolving operational issues.
Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, contractors and visitors.
Role
The Facilities & Cleaning Assistant supports the effective operation, presentation, cleanliness and safety of Balwyn High School. The role provides cleaning services, assists with school opening and closing procedures, supports the Facilities Team with operational tasks, and contributes to the maintenance of a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
The position reports to the Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities
Cleaning and Presentation¿ Undertake routine and reactive cleaning duties across the school.
¿ Monitor, clean and restock student and staff toilets throughout the day.
¿ Respond to spills, vandalism and other cleaning issues as required.
¿ Collect and dispose of rubbish and recycling.
