St Brendan-Shaw College has a Limited Tenure Part-Time position available to cover a period of Parental Leave.

Contract Details: Monday 24 August 2026 until Friday 20 August 2027, Term time only.

5 days per week (0.67 FTE / 30hrs) from 24 August until the end of Term 4, 2026, reducing to 4 days per week (0.54 FTE / 24hrs) from the start of Term 1, 2027, until 20 August 2027.

St Brendan-Shaw College is a Catholic, co-educational school located in Devonport, North West Tasmania, catering for students from Years 7 to 12. The College is seeking applications to cover a 12-month parental leave contract.  

Teacher Assistants are accountable for providing effective, quality support to teachers in the delivery of defined educational programs and activities and interventions for students.

About you:

Teacher Assistants are required to demonstrate that they are:-

  • Able to relate to students with varying needs, exercising judgment and discretion in undertaking duties
  • Able to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships
  • Able to apply literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills to effectively undertake the role
  • Able to use initiative to resolve problems and conflicts in a constructive manner
  • Flexible and dependable
