Role description
Be a part of something new
The Strong Families Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line (ARL) has transitioned to a new way of working. It operates as a dedicated rapid screening and referral ‘front door’ for Child Safety Services. It will triage phone and online concerns, about children and young people who may be experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing, abuse, neglect or family violence.

About the Role
This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy assessment, analysis, and decision-making, as it does not involve direct casework or face-to-face engagement with children and families. Instead, you will support child safety outcomes through information gathering, risk assessment, and triage decision-making. This is a dynamic and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding children and young people.
Working across either Primary or Secondary Triage in a Statewide Service, you will:
- Screen, analyse, and assess notifications of concerns about children and young people
- Determining appropriate pathways, including referral, assessment, transfer, or closure of matters
- Apply evidence informed decision-making and risk assessment frameworks to support sound triage outcomes
- Manage sensitive information with integrity, confidentiality, and a child-centred approach
- Collaborate with multiple external stakeholders and present matters to regional Child Safety Service teams for further assessment
