Role description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and culturally responsive SACE Society and Culture teacher to work with Aboriginal students in the SAASTA Specialist Academy.
In this role, you will teach students in Years 10, 11, and 12, supporting them to strengthen their cultural identity, develop leadership skills, and build pathways into further education, training, or employment.
Teaching takes place in culturally safe learning environments that value Aboriginal perspectives and lived experience.
You will work closely with program staff, community organisations, and partners to deliver learning that meets SACE and Australian Curriculum requirements, with Aboriginal culture, history, and perspectives embedded across teaching practice.

Key Responsibilities
Teach Society and Culture aligned with SACE and Australian Curriculum
Embed Aboriginal culture, history, and perspectives into learning
Support student engagement, wellbeing, and leadership development
Build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners
Monitor and report on student learning and progress

Essential Requirements
Registration or eligibility for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia
Respect for and understanding of Aboriginal cultures and perspectives
Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse student needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
