Role description
Location Profile
Thomastown Primary School was established in 1855 and has provided quality education programs for students in the Thomastown community for over 160 years.
In 2023 TPS has an enrolment of 170 students organised into ten classrooms.
The well maintained buildings and extensive grounds provide an attractive and welcoming environment for our students and for the wider community.
The school community is a socially, culturally and economically diverse group with approximately 80% of students from a background other than English and over 35 language groups represented. Around 15% of students are newly arrived to Australia.
Teaching and learning at our school is designed to develop skills and behaviours that are founded on the development of positive self esteem and a respect for the strengths and talents of others. We believe that every student has the ability to learn and that this best occurs in a supportive environment in which children's efforts and achievements are valued, so that their potential is reached. The TPS School Values are respect, responsibility and effort.
The staff at Thomastown Primary School are committed to quality teaching and professional practices. They display a high level of commitment to professional learning in order to achieve best practice in their approaches to teaching and learning. This is reflected in the existing high quality curriculum delivery and learning experiences. ICT forms an integral part of the learning program.
