Head of Learning Area - English

The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) is seeking a curriculum leader to fill the position of Head of Learning Area (HOLA) English. The successful applicant should be a collaborative, people-focused and improvement-driven curriculum leader, who supports active engagement and learning for all students through a blended learning approach.

To be suitable for this role, you will ideally lead staff in the effective implementation of the WA English Curriculum and Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses across the learning area. The successful applicant will be required to take on an appropriate teaching load.

SIDE serves diverse student cohorts with unique contexts and needs; as such the HOLA – English requires the ability to design and implement relational, responsive learning opportunities that strengthen student wellbeing, engagement and learning outcomes. You will ideally be a collaborative problem solver and have highly effective communication skills.
