Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively maintain the school gardens and grounds and to undertake general maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrated keen interest in undertaking new plantings and pruning and to follow a landscape plan to maintain the school's garden beds.
- With supervision and training capacity to use plant equipment and a sound understanding of safe work practices.
- Proven ability to follow instructions and to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to be self-motivated and show initiative.
Role
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Grounds and Maintenance Officer will work in a small team and independently to maintain the general appearance of the school grounds, including building and garden maintenance. The successful applicant will have the capacity to undertake minor maintenance tasks, including repairs to lockers, graffiti removal, moving of furniture etc.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Facilities Manager follow a works schedule for the College¿s grounds.
- Provide care and maintenance of the school grounds and assist in maintaining a clean environment.
- Maintain and mow the school grounds as part of a regular cycle of maintenance.
- Poison weeds around the school grounds and buildings, as required.
- Remove graffiti and chewing gum as directed.
- Undertake minor maintenance repairs to buildings and equipment as directed.
- Other duties as directed by Facilities Manager and Principal.
