About the role

Our LSOs play a vital role in nurturing students’ learning, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. Working alongside classroom teachers, Learning Community Leaders, and the Learning Diversity Team, LSOs support students with diverse learning needs — ensuring that every child is known, valued, and supported to flourish.

The successful applicant will:

  • Support the Catholic identity and mission of Sacred Heart through respectful participation in prayer, liturgy, and school life when in attendance
  • Assist students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, or EAL backgrounds
  • Provide respectful and discreet assistance with personal care where required
  • Support the implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), and classroom adjustments as directed
  • Assist with supervision during breaks, transitions, excursions, and school activities
  • Work flexibly across classrooms and year levels based on daily staffing needs
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to student safety and wellbeing
