Role description
Aitken College invites applications from suitably qualified teachers with leadership experience, for the position of Head of Learning (Science), commencing in January 2027.
The Head of Learning is responsible for the implementation of the College’s strategic agenda to Improve Learning Outcomes, through the overall management of curriculum and assessment for Year 7 to Year 12 within the Learning Area. The Head of Learning is expected to demonstrate leadership through exemplary teaching practice and to foster creativity. The Head of Learning will contribute to the implementation of the College’s Strategic Plan within the learning area, facilitating a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and better practice. This includes observing and providing feedback in relation to teacher practice in a coaching capacity, to drive continuous improvement.
The Head of Learning (Science) is a fixed-term Position of Added Responsibility (PAR) reviewed on a three-year cycle with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be offered an ongoing substantive teaching position at the College.
