Role description

Cedars Christian College – ASPIRE is a special school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual impairments. Located in Wollongong, the school sits in the heart of the beautiful Illawarra region, within the grounds of Cedars Christian College. Being part of the larger Cedars community allows Aspire students opportunities to integrate into some Key Learning Areas (KLAs) in Cedars’ core classes, aligning with our shared values, mission, and vision.

The heart of Cedars ASPIRE, is an innovative forward-thinking Learning Plan that responds specifically to the academic, social, and emotional requirements unique to each child. ASPIRE’s intentionally designed curriculum is structured for smaller classroom settings and is stage-based, founded upon a Biblical worldview. It prioritises investment in remedial literacy, numeracy programs, and critical life and independent living skills.

The school currently has enrolments from Years 3-8, comprised of three small classes. Each class has approximately 5-10 students, a Class Teacher and Learning and Wellbeing Assistant. Cedars ASPIRE is growing each year and plan to offer education through to Year 12.
