Role description
Nowra Anglican College is seeking a dynamic Head of Department – Science to lead our Senior School Science department. If you are a committed Christian leader who thrives on building teacher capacity, fostering high-quality scientific inquiry, and mentoring staff, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Leadership: Mentor staff, conduct lesson observations, and lead evidence-based pedagogy aligned with our Building Learning Power framework.
- Curriculum & Data: Oversee differentiated teaching programs, using data to drive student growth in science, literacy, and numeracy.
- WHS & Compliance: Maintain a rigorous safety culture, supervising lab technicians and ensuring strict adherence to CSIS guidelines and Risk Assess protocols.
- School Life: Contribute to the Senior School pastoral program and lead a weekly co-curricular activity.

Selection Criteria
- Relevant education degree and eligibility for NESA accreditation.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
- Proven success improving student outcomes and building teacher capacity in science.
- Strong understanding of instructional leadership and differentiated learning.
- Active involvement in a local church and commitment to Christian education in the Anglican tradition.
