The Opportunity

St Thomas More School is seeking to appoint a Curriculum Education Support Officer.  

Education Support Officers have a key role in modelling the Mercy values of our school and contributing to the creation of a safe environment where students can strive to reach their full potential. Working under the direction of the classroom teacher, you will support learning and wellbeing by assisting with classroom programs and contributing to the overall educational experience of our students. Multiple positions working across Reception- Year 6 classrooms and Specialist teaching areas.

This is a permanent, part-time position, working a possible 15 – 30 hours per week

Key responsibilities include:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Educator who will demonstrate an ability to:

  • Assist in maintaining a positive and respectful classroom environment
  • Provide instruction to students within the learning environment
  • Apply personal knowledge and initiative to suggest modifications to educational programs to meet the learning needs of specific students, subject to approval of the teacher. 
  • Supervise and care for students with formally identified special needs, following Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL)
  • Assist students in small groups and one-on-one settings to support learning across all curriculum areas
  • Provide yard duty support/coaching to students in accordance with school procedures.
