Role description
The Opportunity
St Mary’s College invites a passionate, dedicated and forward-thinking professional to become part of our vibrant College Community in 2026
The Triage Social Worker plays a vital role as the initial point of contact in supporting the wellbeing and pastoral care of students at the College. Working closely with all members of the community, the role assists students from Reception to Year 12 by providing timely assessment, early intervention and prioritisation of support needs to promote engagement and successful learning outcomes.
Staff at St Mary’s College play a pivotal role in bringing our core purpose to life:
Our ‘I am.’ identity is about recognising every girl as she is, her strengths and struggles, her passions and potential. Her truth is our shared reality and our purpose.
About You
We are seeking a Social Worker who thrives in a collaborative environment and values teamwork. You will work closely with students, staff, and families to provide holistic support, ensuring a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach. Your ability to collaborate effectively across different teams will be essential in creating a supportive network for students with complex needs.
A strong understanding of child protection legislation and mandatory reporting requirements is crucial. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships, facilitate teamwork, and contribute to a shared commitment to student wellbeing.
Current registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) will be looked upon favourably.
