Role description
This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAP
Disability and Inclusion, Statewide Services, is committed to improving outcomes for students with disability through the implementation of strategic projects reflecting contemporary practice, and Department, state and national initiatives and priorities. Disability and Inclusion consultants work with schools to support students with disability by:
- building the capacity of schools to support students with disability and complex needs
- implementing key disability reforms such as initiatives to address recommendations from the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability
- developing strategies, professional learning and resources to support schools to strengthen outcomes for students with disability and complex needs
- streamlining schools access to supports, including the allocative mechanism used by schools to access funding for students with disability.
Disability and Inclusion leads and manages the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of projects and their outcomes, and provides advice to senior personnel within the Directorate and the Department of Education
The Role
The Education officer assists with the planning, implementation and evaluation of specialist teaching and learning support in response to the needs of public schools and the Department’s strategic direction. They support schools and education regions through the development and implementation of whole-school strategies to improve quality teaching and learning.
