Position Information
Parkes Public School is a K-6 school with an enrolment of approximately 365 students. Our school is on a split site with separate playgrounds for the K-2 and 3-6 students. We have 15 mainstream classes and six support classes. Over 36% of our students are from an Aboriginal background. We have a growing percentage of students who belong to a family where English is a second language.
Our school operates exceptional programs, including a very effective transition program for Preschool to Kindergarten, Year 2 to Year 3 and Year 6 to Year 7. The students enjoy a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. Student learning is enhanced by utilising the latest technologies in all curriculum areas. We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning school, and we have a strong history of academic, sporting and performing arts success.
