Role description

The Opportunity 

St Francis Xavier's Catholic School is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Education Support Officers (ESO) to join our Curriculum team. 

Working under the direction of a teacher, The ESO will support learning and wellbeing by assisting with classroom programs and contributing to the overall educational experience of our students. Multiple positions working across Reception- Year 6 classrooms and Specialist teaching areas are available, Monday- Friday 9:00am-3:00pm (40 weeks per year).

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • support student learning through the preparation of high-quality resources, classroom materials and learning aids 
  • provide individual and small-group support to students under the guidance of the classroom teacher
  • assist teachers with student supervision during classroom activities, excursions and school events
  • contribute to the creation of a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • build and maintain positive and respectful relationships with students, families and the wider school community
  • participate in team meetings, training and professional learning opportunities
  • model behaviour consistent with Catholic values and school expectations
