Role description

St Michael’s College is a Catholic co‑educational college in the Lasallian tradition which is committed to the human and Christian education of the young, especially the poor, through: Community, Challenge and Choice.  Employing around 280 staff across the Secondary Campus (Henley Beach) and Primary Campus (Beverly), St Michael’s College is the second largest independent school in South Australia with enrolments of circa 2,300 students.  After a recent $30m upgrade to its Primary Campus, the school is investing over $100m over the next 10 years to ensure its Secondary Campus remains a leader in educational excellence.

Reporting to the Head of Secondary Campus, working closely with the Principal and as a member of the Executive College Leadership Team, this pivotal senior leadership role is responsible for driving excellence in learning, teaching and curriculum across Years 7–12.  As a key contributor to the College’s strategic directions, the Deputy Principal – Learning and Achievement will champion a culture of academic rigour, contemporary pedagogy, equity and inclusion, and a deep commitment to the holistic development of every student.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • leading the implementation, review and ongoing enhancement of the College’s Teaching and Learning Framework and whole‑school pedagogical practices;
  • overseeing the development, delivery and assessment of curriculum programs, ensuring alignment with best practice, educational research and the College’s Lasallian ethos;
