Role description
Nyangatjatjara College comprises three campuses and is located in Central Australia having iconic Uluru as its epicentre. The College provides Primary and Secondary Education programs and aspires to guide Anangu students into relevant employment and enterprise. The College serves the three Anangu communities of Imanpa, Mutitjulu and Kaltukatjara and is primarily accessed by the Lasseter Highway. The school has an enrolment of around 75 -100 students from Foundation to Year 10.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and explicitly deliver quality and evidence-based teaching and learning programs which are consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and relevant curriculum policies, work programs and local trends.
- Support students through interaction in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.
- Provide for the physical, social, cultural and emotional well- being and safety of students whilst at school.
- Regularly assess students (diagnostic, formative and summative) for developmental, feedback and reporting purposes.
- Maintain student records and samples of work and report on student performance to students, parents, the department and other stakeholders as required.
- Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships between the school, parents and community.
- Report to the Lead Teacher and Deputy Principal.
