Senior Classroom Teacher

Nyangatjatjara College comprises three campuses and is located in Central Australia having iconic Uluru as its epicentre. The College provides Primary and Secondary Education programs and aspires to guide Anangu students into relevant employment and enterprise. The College serves the three Anangu communities of Imanpa, Mutitjulu and Kaltukatjara and is primarily accessed by the Lasseter Highway. The school has an enrolment of around 75 -100 students from Foundation to Year 10. 

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Oversee and model the development, implementation of effective education programs to meet the needs of students and promote a positive school climate through the demonstration of effective leadership.
2. Co-manage teachers in close collaboration with the Deputy Principal.
3. Assist in the implementation and review of school policy, procedures, and the School Improvement Plan to achieve educational outcomes.
4. Provide regular advice, though ongoing monitoring and reporting, to the leadership team, on all educational and administrative matters to achieve planned and resourced educational outcomes. 
5. Undertake 0.8 teaching load with 5 hours non-instructional time for planning and assessment.
    

Information for applicants 

Imanpa is halfway between Yulara and Alice - if the applicant has a personal car, it is very easy to get into Alice Springs for supplies/a break etc. It is also a great location to base yourself to go exploring on weekends if you have a car - Kings Canyon/Alice/Mount Connor/West Mac Ranges etc.
