About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is no ordinary teaching role. As an ESCC Learning Specialist, you’ll work in a flexible, dynamic environment across the Eastern region, delivering personalised, one-on-one education to young people.
You’ll provide tailored support through tutoring, targeted interventions, outreach, and advocacy—helping re-engage learners and guide them toward mainstream education, vocational pathways, or further study.
With a focus on individual needs, you’ll design customised programs that build literacy and numeracy, empowering young people to reach their full potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Student Support: Tailored 1:1 and small group support to build engagement and skills
- Collaboration: Partner with teachers and wellbeing staff to adapt learning
- Relationships: Foster trust with students, families, and support teams
- Learning Delivery: Support classroom and co-curricular activities
- Safe Environment: Supervise and maintain structure across school settings
- Operations: Assist with resources, organisation, and admin tasks

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated teaching experience
- Tertiary Qualification in Education
- Demonstrated experience in working with Children and Young People who may have experienced trauma and present with diverse needs.
