Role description
Selection Criteria
- Working collaboratively as an Occupational Therapist to deliver comprehensive evidence based Occupational Therapy service to children in a special school environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a trans-disciplinary team as well as facilitate Occupational Therapy groups.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, families, teachers and other professionals. Excellent time management skills to act as a resource person in the area of Occupational Therapy and prioritisation of responsibilities to ensure the role is most effective.
- Demonstrated ability to assess each student's learning needs and formulate curriculum based individual goals.
- A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and the capacity to reflect critically upon professional practice relevant to specialist schools.
Role
Will usually be a member of the leadership team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of a school/s. Provides a range of services and/or undertakes the analysis of complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
A school or group of schools would need to have the necessary diversity and complexity to create a role at range 5. Management of a major school or district initiative, project or Department targeted strategy would be an indicator depending on the breadth of management responsibilities.
