Teacher Aide

Role

Rawson Primary School is seeking a dedicated Education Support staff member to work Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM (including a 30-minute unpaid break), with the shift concluding 15 minutes after the school day to assist with student departures. 

Operating within a single, close-knit classroom of 9 students spanning Prep to Grade 6, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver targeted support to small groups and individual learners across diverse age groups and abilities. 

Key responsibilities include assisting with core Literacy and Numeracy activities, preparing learning resources, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, and providing limited, respectful assistance with toileting duties for Prep students as required. 

The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, possess a current Working with Children Check, and thrive in a collaborative, small-school community.

An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.
