Yule Brook College is a proud Independent Public School inspired by our ethos of 'one student at a time in a community of learners'. Our school strives to meet the individual interests and needs of our students and provide support to develop the dimensions of the whole person.

First opened as Maddington Senior High school in 1978, the school became a middle school in 2000 and was renamed Yule Brook College. Since 2008 we have used the Big Picture design to provide a personalised learning plan based on each student's interests and passions. The Advisory class is an integral part of our school structure and students develop a strong bond with their class and teacher.

The Role

The Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO) is a support role that assists teachers in delivering planned education programs and encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

The AIEO acts as a liaison between the community and school to develop an educational program relevant to both educational and cultural needs. They also provide mentoring and pastoral care to encourage participation and achievement at school and provide support and advice to schools and teachers on the management program of students at risk. They also design and implement behaviour management plans, maintain records, and provide information to parents.
